NO. 211 New York Fashion Week Day 4: Irina Shabayeva
Designer Irina Shabayeva captivated the audience with her iconic shapes, colors, and textures. The models sauntered slowly down the runway with their hair back in plaited pig tails, accompanied by dewey skin and bold eyeliner. A structured leather jacket paired with a rose patterned pencil skirt opened the show, followed by her line of sleek leather and lace ensembles. They screamed 1950's classic barbie doll complete with a wide brimmed hat. Noteworthy pieces included an extravagant bird feather dress, sewn intricately into flower shapes. A bell sleeved, off the shoulder mini dress defined her style along with her sweeping formal gowns. The color palate ranged from red to blush and from white to black. Each look was more stunning than the next. Her collection truly embodies what fashion means to me, and i believe she was sending a message of female empowerment. Well Irina, message received! Well done.
