DIY CUSTOM CLOSET

diy custom closet

Hey babes!

I hope you are having a lovely week so far. I wanted to hop on here and chat with you about all things CLOSET!

When I was appartment hunting, the main thing I was looking for was the size of the master bedroom. My plan has always been to transform the master into the ultimate walk-in closet room, while turing the actual attached walk-in closet into shoe + bag storage. I was able to do this in my current rental, and I feel like it has truly made this townhome feel like my own. It has become my favorite room in the house, and I a, still enjoying decorating it!

Let's start at the beginning. When this room was an empty canvas, I headed to good ole IKEA, and picked up 5 of the white BRIMNES Wardrobes. These wardrobes have 3 doors, one mirrored panel and two solid panels. One of my favorite things about this purchase is that it has a "custom" look to it, without the custom price tag. My dad helped me put them together and I am so appreciative of his man power. You definitely need at least 2 people to put these together, and beware the box is so heavy. Once they were built and screwed into the wall, I customized them with gold handles from Amazon (because the ones they come with are U-G-L-Y). Gold hardware always has a way of making pieces look expensive, and I love the effect they have on the room.

To break up all the white, I added a pink couch from Wayfair and a gorgeous rattan pendant from Wanderlust Lighting. I am a fan of mixing textures, and love how the velvet couch contrasts with the natural vibe of the light fixture. On the wall between the shoe closet + bathroom, I added a console table to house all of my accessories. Sunglasses, necklaces, earrings, and hats all have a place to be displayed. I am so thrilled with how it is turning out, and have linked some similar options for you below. I hope this encourages you to start your next DIY project!
