6 WAYS TO STYLE A RUFFLE TOP
Updated: Dec 19, 2019
Hi beautiful babes! I hope you had a lovely weekend. I wanted to get your Monday off to a fun start with a little blog post with some styling tips. I recently received this gorgeous Nude Mesh Frill V Neckline Bodysuit in the mail from Femme Luxe, and have been absolutely loving it. Ruffles add a flirty touch to your outfit and are a must if you have a romantic personal style. For my fellow smaller chested ladies, ruffles will add some volume where you need it, and give the illusion of a larger bust. (which is ideal if you are on the petit side!) The key to styling ruffles in the most flattering way is to keep below the waistline tailored. This will provide balance to your overall look. You also need to pay attention to where the ruffles hit you, as they need to have perfect placement. I highly recommend trying on a ruffled top before purchasing it, so you can be sure you are highlighting your assets, and not creating an unflattering OOTD. Where can I wear a ruffled top? Ruffles are perfect for your daily OOTD, date night, a girls night out, or even a bridal shower/special event. At first, I thought that this piece was going to be difficult to style, but it pairs effortlessly with any pair of pants you have in your closet. This is a perfect day-to-night top as well; a simple pant change completely transforms your look. Lets get into my top 6 styling tips!
I decided to style this bodysuit with a pair of high waisted white jeans from Mother Denim. I absolutely love the light, feminine vibe when wearing pink + white together. This color combo is such a fresh look for summer time, and is a great option to wear to a daytime party or brunch with your girlfriends. I think I’ll be rocking this outfit at the next baby shower I attend!
Headed to a concert? Or maybe a party that you want to look a bit spicy for? Leather pants are the key here. I love how feminine ruffles pair with edgy leather pants. 2 totally different styles come together to make killer outfit. This outfit will definitely make you look like a rockstar, so be prepared to get some stares! (warning: only wear this if you are ready for lots of attention)
KHAKIS + BELT BAG
This look feels very high fashion to me. Definitely has some Zimmerman vibes. Blush pink + tan + cognac are one of my favorite color combos when transitioning your wardrobe from summer to fall. August is such a fun month for fashion, because you can combine your favorite summer + fall tones into one look. Adding a belt bag to your look automatically adds style + is such a convenient alternative to carrying a handbag. When wearing ruffles, it’s important to keep your belt bag simple, and go for one that has clean lines and is low profile.
Basically everything looks great with quality denim. I highly recommend investing in at least one pair of designer denim, so that you can get the best fit and enjoy them for years to come. Jeans+ a ruffle blouse is a flirty street style look that every gal needs to have in her wardrobe. It is a great outfit to utilize when you are on the go, and dont have time to go home after work and change your outfit for date night. Just swap out your sneakers and add a designer bag + heels to transform your OOTD to an OOTN.
MONOTONE BIKE SHORTS
If you follow me on Instagram, you know I love me some bike shorts. Even more so, I love a monotone look. Combine both looks and you have my ideal outfit.
I’ve always loved overalls, and am so happy they are trendy. You can really edge up some overalls with some ruffles underneath. This takes the roughness of denim and tones it down with the femininity of the blush ruffle. I hope these tips were helpful, and you enjoyed reading my thoughts!
