Sweet Sixteen

I teamed up with Nylon Magazine to bring you friends some fresh summer makeup inspiration. (:

Nylon is celebrating their 16th birthday, and to celebrate they are bringing an exclusive eyeshadow palatte complete with a highlight and blush via Memebox to all their subscribers. This was such a surprise to collaborate with one of my favorite magazines, and Im delighted to show you what I've created.

A little bit about it:

This tiny palatte is packed with pigmented neutral shades to create a perfect summer smokey eye. I love the neutral color tones and the bright pink blush it included. The case itself is a matte black with hot pink text. So damn cute. It may be small, but it packs a punch! These pigmented shades stayed on all day, and I didnt even use a primer. The colors themselves are named after "It Girls" and are irresistibly gorgeous.

What I did:

This season, I am obsessed with greens and blues. Ive been experimenting with colored shadows and am loving how it complements colored eyes. For this look, i used the light green shade on the lid, the dark green and brown mixed together on the crease, and finished it off with the white highlight on my tearduct and under the brow. As a final touch, i added the pink blush underneath my eye to complement my eye color. This look will flatter any eye color, but i think it will especially enhannce blue and green eyes.

For eyeliner, I used a pointed liner brush with gel liner and went over it with a wet eyeshadow brush dipped in black to deepen up the line. For mascara, i used maybelinne as a base and topped it off with my 3D fiber lash mascara from Younique Cosmetics. For a little extra lash volume, I cut a pair of false lashes in half and glued them on the outter corners of my eyes. This gives a cat eye effect. (:

On the face: NARS loose powder, Clinique liquid, and Maybelinne age correcter concealer with Benefit Hula bronzer. Cheekbone highlight and brush from the Nylon Memebox palatte.
