NYFW Day 1: The Shows // Nicholas K Studio
Nicholas K delivered a stunning collection of tone-on-tone sets, metallic pattern mixes, and crushed velvet textures in the Fall 2017 collection. The show started out with flowing, asymmetrical shapes, followed by a parade of rust-colored statement coats and neutral toned tunics tied around the waist with a sash. Coats were worn over the shoulder, and pants were worn low on the hip and accented by zippers at the ankle.
The simplistic nature of the line gave plenty of room for statement accessories. Tribal nose rings, over-the-top hoop earrings, French berets, metallic booties, and leather headbands adorned the models' bodies and complimented their natural makeup. The styling added an element of edge as well. With their hair worn straight and over one shoulder, we were able to see the variation of necklines. From V-neck, to cowl neck, to scoop, to cutout, we were filled with anticipation to see the uniqueness of each piece as the models sauntered down the runway in them.
This exquisite collection captured a stunning modern essence and left us eager for the fall fashion season to roll around.
