Laser Facials - Pros & Cons with Skin Laundry

I have partnered with Skin Laundry to talk about the importance of taking care of your skin. Did you know that after age 21, you lose 1% of your collagen every year?! AHH! Im down 3% and am doing everything in my power to keep my skin looking youthful and healthy. This is why I have started getting the Laser and Light facial + Ultra Fractional treatments with SL. I love them because I am in-and-out of the salon in 30 minutes and there is no down time or recovery. I can even put makeup on after if I need to for a photoshoot. But trust me, you wont want to wear makeup! Your skin will be glowing like a goddess. The photos below were taken right after my treatments and I am wearing NO foundation. You can really see the immediate brightening results with minimal redness.

I personally have some hyper-pigmentation from acne in high school, so I tried the Ultra Fractional which is the most intense of their 3 treatments. Here's the low down:

Step 1: The YAG laser is used to deep clean pores, leaving your skin smooth and primed for Step 2.

Step 2: Next our fractional resurfacing laser powerfully treats the surface of the skin to reduce pigmentation, rejuvenate skin cells, and stimulate collagen while creating microscopic channels allowing for greater absorption of the serum in Step 3.

Step 3: Our Hydration Boost serum instantly cools and soothes your skin. Utilizing a pressurized oxygen system, we deliver Hyaluronic Acid, antioxidants and peptides to fight aging and provide lasting hydration.

The Results: Reduces pigmentation and appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Healthier, more even, younger looking skin!

Personal Experience: I was able to tolerate the recommended 3 passes of the Ultra Fractional laser, but I will warn you that the 3rd pass was hard to sit through. It especially hurt over the upper lip. It feels like a sunburn, and my face was on fire! But, it only look about 10 minutes and then the technician blows cold oxygen all over your face which feels amazing, and then applied some cold SPF. Once it was all finished, it felt like I had a minor sunburn, nothing crazy. On a pain scale, I'd give it a 4/10.

If the above sounds too intense for you, I also love the Laser + Light Facial which is the most mild of their treatments.

Step 1: First, the YAG laser energy penetrates deep into the dermis to stimulate collagen production while also targeting production while also targeting unwanted pigmentation and deeply cleaning the skin by vaporizing debris from the skin's surface and from within your pores.

Step 2: The second step is Intense Pulse Light (IPL) which targets redness, pigment, inflammation and bacteria.

The Results: Clearer, brighter, tighter skin!

Personal Experience: It gives me a noticeable glow.I have very mild redness after, and NO pain whatsoever during or after this treatment. The only thing i will warn you about is momentary breakouts after your treatment because it brings out the dirt thats in your skin (after all, you're purging it). I notice that I get some white heads, but I just pop them and then my skin looks flawless. You don't want to pick them though, make sure you're extracting your pimples correctly. You can ask the SL technician the right techniques, they are super sweet and knowledgeable :) On a pain scale, I'd give it a 0/10.

Having tried both, I can honestly recommend them to you. Which treatment you get depends entirely on your skin needs.

I hope I have provided you with enough info and insight to help you feel confident stepping into the laser facial world. It has honestly changed my skins life!

Taken the day after my Laser Light Facial

Taken minutes after my Ultra Fractional Facial at the Newport Beach Salon.

Absolutely no editing. Taken 15 minutes after my Ultra Fractional Facial. You can see that my face is red, but this went away completely after 1.5 hours. It felt like a sunburn.
