LET YOUR INNER SPARKLE SHINE THROUGH

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Let your inner sparkle shine through.

This year, I've struggled a bit with imposter syndrome: "A psychological pattern in which an individual doubts their skills, talents or accomplishments..." I'm not sure why I started to feel this way, or the moment that it started, but I think it has to do with my feelings toward how the industry is transforming. With new platforms + features popping up frequently & providing new ways to create/share content, sometimes it seems as though I'm drowning and can't keep up with everything. The blogging world sometimes feels SO saturated to me, and even though I've been working as an Influencer for 8 years, there are days that I just completely doubt myself & my skills and feel like I bring nothing unique to the table. Most days when I'm about to click 'share', I get butterflies and think "who cares". My mind starts to race and think that everyone has already seen or posted content just like mine - and I think about how someone already did it "better" and think that I'm not good enough. I stumbled across the quote "Comparison kills creativity. There is room for you. Nobody can do it with your voice, with your experience, with your insight." - and immediately realized that I desperately needed to adjust my perspective. If you've been feeling this way too - our feeling are valid and not at all off base, an interview with Sean Parker, Facebooks former president, states "At Facebooks core is the concept of comparison... it was purposefully designed to exploit a vulnerability in human psychology." UMM thats EFFED UP! After reading that I immediately felt validated, but determined to change the cycle for myself. Whenever I get on IG, I purposefully tell myself that my job is to encourage and inspire others - and be inspired & encouraged back. I was surprised to find that a small mindset shift really helped me to start enjoying Instagram again. In case you are in the same boat, I'm here to be your biggest hype woman. To encourage you to make changes for your mental/emotional health, and remind you to GO FOR IT! Whatever IT is. Don't let anybody dull your sparkle.

PS. How amazing did @jackiemargot.mua do on this entire look? I think she absolutely NAILED it!!
