Touchdown Paris! I am so thrilled to be back in this beautiful city. We flew in, hopped in our Uber, and headed straight to Grand Hotel Du Palais Royal for our Parisian staycation. Ideally located between the Louvre and the Opera House, (and across the street from the Palais Royal Gardens!) this luxury boutique hotel is a must see in the heart of Paris. This stunning historical building has some of the most incredible architecture I’ve had the pleasure of seeing, and I am excited to share my images with you! There are a million reasons why I love this place, but here are my top 5 reasons you won’t want to leave.
Reason #1: It's All In The Details
Upon entering our room, we were greeted by the most thoughtful welcome gifts to make me feel more at home. The staff customized my room with adorable bohemian goodies! Waiting on the table for me was a massive bouquet, a pink dream catcher, a pompom basket sign that says “welcome”, and a gorgeous seashell wall hanging, and of course champagne. This truly means so much to me. I can’t wait to style these in my home in California, they’ll fit right in. While we were setting in for the night, we got a knock at our door and it was the bell man bringing us a gift. The spa team sent up the most amazing skincare I have ever tried! It’s called Filorga “Time Filler” which is the bomb.com for wrinkles :) *ps this is not an AD I just legitimately love it! I have definitely felt like a princess here.
Reason #2: A Staff That Sets The Standard For Hospitality
The Grand Hotel Du Palais Royal is a 5 star hotel for more than just its physicality. The staff truly sets the standard for hospitality. As soon as we pulled up to the hotel, we were assisted with our luggage and ushered inside to check in. The sweetest woman at the front desk already knew who I was and pulled out my paper work before I even reached the counter. She gave us the low down on the hotel, and introduced us to all of the other staff members so that we could chat with them about exploring the city. We were escorted to our room and shown how to use everything, because things are quite different here than in the USA. She really put us at ease and made us feel right at home. International traveling can sometimes be daunting, but as soon as we arrived we were put at ease and felt taken care of which is so important :)
Reason #3: The Lux Experience
Traveling + jetlag, so having a Nespresso machine at my fingertips has been a dream. Our room came stocked with different flavored pods, and a full coffee bar set up with cream, sugar, and cups + saucers. Whenever I travel, it’s always the little things that make the journey that much more enjoyable and having this available in the room all hours of the day + night makes it so convenient. Okay so now that you know how much of an addict I am, I want to tell you about the amazing breakfast that came with our stay. We enjoyed the buffet that was stocked with bacon, sausage, and every kind of pastry you can think of! I never let myself have a pastry at home, but during this trip I promised myself that I can eat whatever I want, and the Grand Hotel Du Palais Royal did not let me down :) I highly recommend the eggs benedict with salmon, its a must!
Reason #4: Luxurious Quarters
We stayed in room 304, which is set up with a gorgeous purple couch + coffee table area in the front of the room and the biggest most comfortable bed along the back wall. Above the bed hangs a gorgeous piece or artwork, and on each side of the bed sits matching lamps + tables to house our belongings. We have been thoroughly enjoying the down comforter + pillows, they are the most difficult to get out of in the mornings!
The bathroom has double rain shower heads, (YES, DOUBLE!) + a towel warming rack, two features that I now cannot live without!
I am such a sucker for all the gorgeous architecture in this city, and we can see the beautiful Cour de l’Horloge right from our window! We have 2 gorgeous floor to ceiling windows with beautiful ornate railings that give it that Iconic Parisian look that I have fallen in love with.
There is nothing better than waking up to the sun peeking through the window and seeing all of that beautiful architecture outside. I find it so inspiring!
Reason #5: Location Location Location
I cant get over how perfectly located the Grand Hotel Du Palais Royal is. We are steps from the iconic Cafe Palais Royal (which has super yummy food), a 5 minute walk from the Louvre Museum, and just a few steps away from the Colonnes De Buren + Jardin Du Palais Royal.
{ Side note: If you have seen the new Mission Impossible, a scene from the movie was filmed in the Jardin Du Palais Royal, and I definitely had a bit of a fan girl moment, being in this city can be surreal. }
Everything else that we plan to see is about a 20 minute car ride away, which couldn’t be any more convenient. However, we have trouble leaving this place to go check places off our itinerary because it is such a dream to be here. :)
